THE MISSION OF THE SAN ANTONIO AIDS FOUNDATION IS TO REDUCE NEW HIV AND OTHER SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS BY PROVIDING EQUITABLE ACCESS TO EDUCATION, PREVENTION, AND SEXUAL HEALTHCARE AND IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV OR AIDS.

CLIENT SERVICESIN 2023, AT 818 E. GRAYSON ST SAAF PROVIDED CLIENT SERVICES FOR 2,683 PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV (PLWH), CONNECTING CLIENTS TO NEEDED RESOURCES INCLUDING HOUSING, PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE, MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND MORE.MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT WAS PROVIDED TO 414 INDIVIDUALS AND NONMEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT TO 521 CLIENTS; 69 PLWH RECEIVED RENTAL ASSISTANCE FOR A TOTAL OF 1,735 MONTHS. EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO 111 PLWH AND AIDS PHARMACEUTICAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED TO 35 INDIVIDUALS. TRANSITIONAL HOUSING WAS PROVIDED TO 40 CLIENTS FOR 3,201 DAYS OF HOUSING. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO 111 PLWH.


CLINICAL PROGRAMSTHE CARE CLINIC PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV AND THOSE AFFECTED BY SYPHILIS, GONORRHEA, AND CHLAMYDIA, INCLUDING LABORATORY SERVICES. IN 2023, THE CARE CLINIC PROVIDED HIV RELATED MEDICAL CARE TO 246 UNDUPLICATED INDIVIDUALS, PREP SERVICES TO 95 PATIENTS, AND MORE THAN 200 INDIVIDUALS FOR SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS. FIVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN PLWH RECEIVED REFERRALS FOR ORAL HEALTH CARE PROVIDED BY SUBCONTRACTORS.CAFE SAAF PROVIDED 30,364 HOT MEALS TO 394 PLWH IN 2023.


TESTING, OUTREACH, AND EDUCATIONSAAF OFFERS FREE, ANONYMOUS AND CONFIDENTIAL TESTING FOR HIV, SYPHILIS, GONORRHEA, AND CHLAMYDIA 6 DAYS EACH WEEK ON SITE AT 818 E GRAYSON AND AT LOCATIONS AROUND SAN ANTONIO WITH OUR MOBILE TESTING VAN. COUNSELING IS AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND PEOPLE NEWLY DIAGNOSED ARE LINKED INTO CARE. IN 2023, SAAF PROVIDED 4,764 HIV TESTS (69 NEW DIAGNOSES), 4,452 SYPHILIS TESTS (143 DIAGNOSED), AND 3,342 GONORRHEA (164 DIAGNOSED) AND CHLAMYDIA TESTS (305 DIAGNOSED).THE EDUCATION PROGRAM PROVIDES HIV/STI AWARENESS AND PREVENTION INFORMATION, "YOU'RE THE CURE," TO FOUR SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN BEXAR COUNTY. THE TEAM ALSO PRESENT IN DRUG TREATMENT PROGRAMS, ADULT AND JUVENILE CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES, AND ASSORTED BUSINESSES. IN 2023, MORE THAN 10,000 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN THE EDUCATION PROGRAMS.
