WOMEN WITH A VISION IS A COMMUNITY-BASED NON-PROFIT FOUNDED IN 1989 BY A GRASSROOTS COLLECTIVE OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMEN IN RESPONSE TO THE SPREAD OF HIV/AIDS IN COMMUNITIES OF COLOR. WWAV IS A SOCIAL JUSTICE NON-PROFIT THAT ADDRESSES ISSUES FACED BY WOMEN WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY AND REGION.

WWAV WORKS TO ENSURE THAT THE LATEST HIV PREVENTION INFORMATION IS IN THE HANDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO NEED IT MOST. WWAV PROVIDES PEER DIRECTED GROUPS THAT GIVE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV/ AIDS, THEIR FAMILIES AND SOCIAL NETWORKS. WWAV FIGHTS FOR DRUG POLICY GROUNDED IN SCIENCE, COMPASSION, HEALTH AND HUMAN RIGHTS.OUR RESEARCH DELVES INTO THE LEGALITY OF SYRINGE POSSESSION AS A MEANS OF PREVENTION OF BLOOD BORN DISEASES AND THE NECESSITY OF THE SYRINGE ACCESS PROGRAMS IN COMBATING HIV/AIDS WWAV LAUNCHED A NEW PROGRAM ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, DATING VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSAULT AND STALKING FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN AND LBTQ WOMEN IN NEW ORLEANS.
