THE MISSION OF VOICES FOR CHILDREN CASA IS TO HELP BREAK THE CYCLE OF CHILDABUSE AND NEGLECT IN BOULDER COUNTY THROUGH THE USE OF TRAINED CASA (COURTAPPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE) VOLUNTEERS. THE CASAS PROVIDE INVESTIGATION,ADVOCACY, MONITORING, AND DIRECT SERVICE TO THE CHILD VICTIMS.

CASA PROGRAM - THE CASA PROGRAM MATCHES HIGHLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WITH CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED ABUSE OR NEGLECT. CASA VOLUNTEERS SPEND TIME WITH CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, REVIEW CASE RECORDS, AND CONFER WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS TO GATHER INFORMATION AND MAKE COMMON SENSE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COURT ABOUT WHAT THEY BELIEVE WOULD BE IN THE CHILD'S BEST INTEREST. THE CASA'S GOAL IS TO RECOMMEND A PATH FORWARD TO A SAFE AND PERMANENT HOME AND ANY ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS THAT WILL HELP A CHILD TO THRIVE IN THE WAKE OF TRAUMA.
STREGTHENING FAMILIES PROGRAM -STRENGTHENING FAMILIES SUPERVISED VISITATION EXISTS TO PROVIDE A PARENT AND CHILD A SAFE SPACE TO VISIT WITH THE SUPPORT OF THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS. WE STRIVE TO PROMOTE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE ALL PARTIES CAN FEEL SAFE AND AT HOME WHILE ENGAGING IN A POSITIVE PARENT/CHILD INTERACTIONS. SUPERVISED EXCHANGES ARE QUICK AND SEAMLESS FOR MORE TIME SPENT WITH YOUR LOVED ONES.
JUVENILE JUSTICE REFORM PROJECT - THROUGH THE JUVENILE JUSTICE REFORM PROJECT, CASAS ARE APPOINTED TO WORK WITH YOUTH INVOLVED IN BOULDER COUNTY'S JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM, MOST OF WHOM HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA. VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE ADDITIONAL TRAINING ON JUVENILE JUSTICE, AND ADVOCATE FOR THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILD IN JUVENILE DELINQUENCY COURT, INCLUDING MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING PLACEMENT, EDUCATION AND MENTAL HEALTH. THIS PROGRAM AIMS TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM BY PROVIDING COURT-INVOLVED YOUTH WITH A CONSISTENT RELATIONSHIP WITH A TRUSTED ADULT.
