CORE PROGRAM: YOUTH ATHLETES AGES 8-22, PARTICIPATING IN THE AGE CLASS AND ABILITY ALPINE SKI RACING GROUPS U10 - FIS. ATHLETES PARTICIPATE YEAR ROUND IN: DRYLAND, SUMMER SKI CAMPS, AND THE WINTER PROGRAM CONSISTS OF PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME PROGRAMS. ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2022 - 2023 SKI SEASON WAS 97 ATHLETES. THE CORE ABILITY AND AGE CLASS PROGRAMS PROMOTE REGIONAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. THE PROGRAMS ARE STAFFED BY FULL TIME, YEAR ROUND COACHES, AS WELL AS PART AND FULL TIME SEASONAL COACHES.
ALPINE AGE CLASS ATHLETE PODIUM AT U14 CHAMPIONSHIPS. FREESTYLE, SLOPESTYLE, RAIL JAMS - MULTIPLE PODIUMS IN ALL EVENTS. SENT SEVERAL ATHLETES TO NATIONALS. 3 PODIUMS AT YOUTH SKI LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. CREATED THE SHRED PROGRAM WITH NEDERLAND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A FREE DAY OF MOUNTAIN BIKE INSTRUCTION OR JUST LEARNING TO RIDE A BIKE FOR EACH GRADE. SINGLE TRACK MOUNTAIN BIKE FACILITATES THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDES ALL COACHING. IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PTA AT NEDERLAND ELEMENTARY WE WERE ABLE TO GET BIKES DONATED TO THE SCHOOL FOR ATHLETES WHO DID NOT HAVE A BIKE.
JUNIOR RACE PROGRAM: THE PROGRAM IS COMPRISED OF YOUTH ATHLETES AGES 6 - 15, PARTICIPATING IN A 14 WEEK SATURDAY OR SUNDAY PROGRAM OPERATING DEC. THROUGH BEGINNING OF APRIL. ENROLLMENT WAS 101 ATHLETES DURING THE 2022- 2023 SEASON, WITH COMPETITIONS ON EITHER AT HOME ON SAT. OR AWAY COMPETITIONS ON SUNDAYS. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON INTRODUCTORY ALPINE COMPETITION SKILLS, INCLUDING SLALOM, GIANT SLALOM AND KOMBI TECHNIQUES. THE PROGRAM IS STAFFED BY A YEAR ROUND DIRECT, AND SEASONAL PART TIME EMPLOYEES. WE ALSO HAVE SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS WHO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM.
SINGLE TRACK MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURES (SMBA): PROMOTES PHYSICAL FITNESS, MOUNTAIN BIKE DEVELOPMENT AND EXPOSURE TO COMPETITIVE MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING. TEAM PARTICIPANTS AND WEEKLY CAMP PARTICIPANTS MAKE UP OUR SMBA PROGRAM. WE HAVE 311 TEAM ATHLETES IN THE SPRING, SUMMER AND FALL SESSIONS AND 169 WEEK LONG CAMP ATHLETES. THE SMBA PROGRAM COMPLEMENTS THE ALPINE PROGRAM FOR YEAR-ROUND CONDITIONING AND ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH IN SPORTS. THE PROGRAMS ARE STAFFED BY A FULL TIME YEAR ROUND DIRECTOR AND FULL AND PART TIME SEASONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE COACHES.
