(STAMPEDE COMMITTEE) PROVIDES FAMILY ORIENTED ENTERTAINMENT AND RECREATION TO RURAL COMMUNITIES OF SOUTH-CENTRAL COLORADO (SOME OF THE POOREST COUNTIES IN COLORADO - CONEJOS AND COSTILLA). STAMPEDE COMMITTEE ECONOMICALLY PROMOTES THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE AND ALSO PROMOTES FAMILY VALUES. IT ALSO INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ABOUT THE RURAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE SAN LUIS VALLEY.
