EACH WEEK THE MILLS RIVER LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER PROVIDES A PROGRAM WHICH IS HELD IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL OF THE MILLS RIVER UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. ALTHOUGH THE WEEKLY EVENTS TAKE PLACE IN THE LOCAL METHODIST CHURCH, THIS OUTREACH MINISTRY IS AN ECUMENICAL MINISTRY TO IMPACT THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. ALL PROGRAMS ARE CENTERED AROUND THE SOCIALIZATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS. MRLEC OFFERS MEDICAL OPPORTUNITES, OUTREACH MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES WHICH FOCUS ON HEALTHY AGING ALONG WITH PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE LAUGHTER, EXERCISE AND THE JOYS OF LIFE WHICH FEW SENIORS SEEM TO EXPERIENCE BUT DESPERATELY NEED IN THEIR LIVES.
