PROVIDE JOB TRAINING TO YOUNG PEOPLE ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM AND OTHER DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO PREPARE FOR MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT IN THE COMMUNITY

GARDEN PROGRAM: MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM EXPANDED AND MAINTAINED THE LEARNING 4 LIFE FARM STUDENT GARDEN AS PART OF THEIR SCHOOL YEAR AND SUMMER CAMP CURRICULUM. 31 STUDENTS, 10 STAFF, AND 18 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS BUILT NEW RAISED BEDS IN OUR NEW UNHEATED HOOP HOUSE, PLANTED, TENDED, AND HARVESTED VEGETABLES, FLOWERS AND HERBS, AND TRIED NEW FOODS THEY GREW.


ALPACA BARN CONSTRUCTION: COMPLETED PHASE 2 OF OUR CONSTRUCTION, BUILDING A 30X96 FOOT UNHEATED HOOP HOUSE AND A 40X80 FOOT BARN FOR OUR ALPACAS AND STUDENT WORKSHOP AND RETAIL SHOP


BEEKEEPING PROGRAM: WE INSTALLED TWO BEEHIVES ON OUR GROUNDS, DONATED BY OUR VOLUNTEER BEEKEEPER, BOB HOOKER, WHO THE KIDS CALL "BEEKEEPER BOB." 18 MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM AND 11 STAFF OBSERVED AND ASSISTED WITH SIMPLE BEEKEEPING TASKS WHEN BEEKEEPER BOB WORKED THE HIVES, AND LEARNED ABOUT BEE BIOLOGY.
