EMPOWERING PARENTS IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES PARENT AIDE SERVICES AND FAMILIAL ASSISTANCE. WE FOCUS ON A MYRIAD OF SERVICES TO COMBAT FAMILY VIOLENCE WHILE EDUCATING PARENTS AND FAMILIES ON INCREASING AWARENESS OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT, BUILDING EMPATHY AND FOSTERING NURTURING BEHAVIORS IN HOPES OF REDUCING CURRENT AND FUTURE RISK OF ABUSE.

PARENT AIDE PROGRAM: EPKC UTILIZE RESEARCH-BASED PROGRAMS TO ASSIST OUR CLIENTS THAT ARE REFERRED TO US, EITHER THROUGH CHILDREN'S DIVISION OR THROUGH CIRCUIT COURT CUSTODY MATTERS. WE PROVIDED SERVICES TO A TOTAL OF 191 PARENTS AND CHILDREN WHO ENTERED INTO OUR PROGRAM DURING 2020. WE BUILT GOALS AND OUTCOMES FOR 2021 PER OUR GRANT WITH THE CHILDREN'S SERVICES FUND WHICH CONTINUES TO BE IMPLEMENTED.
THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM: EPKC UTILIZE A MYRIAD OF THERAPEUTIC TREATMENTS SUCH AS TF-CBT, MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING, TRAUMA CENTERED APPROACH, CBT, AND TALK THERAPY. OUR THERAPY PROGRAM FOCUSES ON HIGH CONFLICT FAMILIES, AND WE PROVIDE SERVICES SUCH AS CO-PARENTING COUNSELING, MEDIATION, VARIOUS ASSESSMENTS, AND ADULT COUNSELING. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS FOR THE THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM IN 2021 IS 318.
PARENT 4 PARENT (P4P): IS AN EARLY-ENGAGEMENT PARENT MENTORING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES THE SAFE AND TIMELY REUNIFICATION OF CHILDREN WITH THEIR PARENTS OR AN ALTERNATIVE PERMANENCY OUTCOME WHEN REUNIFICATION IS NOT A VIABLE GOAL. THE PROGRAM SERVES FAMILIES WHO ARE IN THE DEPENDENCY SYSTEM AND SERVICES ARE INITIATED WHEN A CHILD IS AT RISK OR HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM HIS OR HER HOME BY CHILDREN'S DIVISION. THE P4P PROGRAM IS THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH JACKSON COUNTY DRUG COURT AND IS A PROGRAM THAT ORIGINATED IN WASHINGTON STATE.
