LAANE ACTION FUND IS A VEHICLE THAT STRIVES TO SHIFT POLITICAL POWER AND ENGAGE VOTERS HISTORICALLY MARGINALIZED FROM THE POLITICAL PROCESS. IN 2022, THE ACTION FUND SPENT ITS TIME RUNNING OUR FIRST POLITICAL PROGRAM FOR THE JUNE PRIMARIES, WINNING THE SEATS OF KEY PROGRESSIVE LEADERS IN LONG BEACH. WE KNOCKED ON OVER 12,664 DOORS, HAD 2,729 CONTACTS AND 2,816 YES'S WITH AN 8 MEMBER TEAM FOR OUR CANDIDATES. WE ALSO RAN A VOLUNTEER CANVASSING PROGRAM, TURNING OUT 113 VOLUNTEERS TO HELP INCREASE VOTER ENGAGEMENT. ADDITIONALLY, WE FOCUSED ON GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING--- 8 HOUSE MEETINGS WITH 40 LEADERS TOTAL. WE RELAUNCHED LONG BEACH RISING, WHICH CONSISTED OF 3 INTENSIVE TRAINING SESSIONS WITH 25 ACTIVIST LEADERS.
