SAD GIRLS CLUB IS A NON PROFIT ORG COMMITTED TO SHOWING UP TO SUPPORT THE MENTAL HEALTH OF GENZ, MILLENNIAL WOMEN AND FEMMES WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THE BIPOC COMMUNITY. THERE ARE THREE PILLARS THAT STAND AT THE FOREFRONT OF OUR WORK. 1. TO CREATE IN-PERSON SAFE SPACES THAT BOTH NURTURE AND BUILD COMMUNITY FOR YOUNG WOMEN TO KNOW THEY ARE NOT ALONE, 2. PROVIDE CULTURALLY RELEVANT MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES TO THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE ACCESS, 3. TO REMOVE THE NEGATIVE STIGMA INTEGRATED WITH MENTAL HEALTH CONVERSATIONS.

IN-PERSON EVENTS:SINCE SAD GIRLS CLUBS (SGC) FOUNDING IN 2017, WE HAVE HELPED MEMBERS OF THE BIPOC COMMUNITY, PARTICULARLY WOMEN OF COLOR, REALIZE THEY ARE NOT ALONE IN THEIR STRUGGLES. WE ARE A BLACK WOMAN-FOUNDED AND MINORITY RUN ORGANIZATION CREATED TO EMPOWER OUR COMMUNITY IN NEW YORK WITH SKILLS, LANGUAGE, AND CONNECTION. WE HONOR OUR MEMBERS EXPERIENCES WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, WHICH ARE OFTEN STEEPED IN SHAME BECAUSE OF STIGMA, AND EQUIP THEM WITH TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO HANDLE LIFES CHALLENGES. WE CREATE EXPERIENCES TO TOUCH MEMBERS AT EVERY STAGE OF THEIR LIVES. OUR WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS, WHICH SPAN OVER 250,000 MEMBERS, OFFER FREE, HOLISTIC GUIDANCE ON A RANGE OF TOPICS TO SUPPORT AND CELEBRATE OUR COMMUNITY. IN-PERSON EVENTS - SINCE 2017 SGC HAS USED IN-PERSON EVENTS AS A WAY TO CONNECT AND BUILD COMMUNITY IN CITIES ACROSS THE WORLD. WE EMPOWER OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH CURATING SPACES FOR OUR MEMBERS TO SHARE, HEAL AND BOND. OUR GOAL THROUGH IN-PERSON EVENTS IS TO SHOW THE POWER OF COMMUNITY AND VULNERABILITY WHILE PROVIDING OUTLETS, TIPS AND RESOURCES THAT CAN BE IMPLEMENTED ONCE WE DEPART.


CHAT ROOM:SAD GIRLS CLUB PRIORITIZES INCREASING ACCESS FOR THE BIPOC COMMUNITY TO MEET WITH CULTURALLY-COMPETENT THERAPISTS. IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE LAUNCHED AN ONGOING VIRTUAL GROUP THERAPY SERIES, CALLED CHATROOM. CHATROOM SESSIONS ARE 60-MINUTES LONG, AND PROVIDE 10 INDIVIDUALS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND FREE GROUP THERAPY WITH A LICENSED THERAPIST. THERE ARE A MINIMUM OF FOUR CHATROOM SESSIONS OFFERED EACH WEEK ACROSS U.S. TIMEZONES. IN 2023, WE HELD 288 CHATROOM SESSIONS; 1,440 INDIVIDUALS COMPLETED 17,820 THERAPY MINUTES IN TOTAL.

REMEDY - REMEDY IS SGCS QUARTERLY THERAPY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, GRANTING ONE FULL YEAR OF 1-ON-1 THERAPY TO SELECTED RECIPIENTS.


REMEDY IS OUR 1:1 THERAPY GRANT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THAT COVERS THE COSTS OF ONE FULL YEAR OF THERAPY (OR 2 SESSIONS/MONTH) TO SAD GIRLS CLUB MEMBERS.
