IMAGINE BLACK IS A RECIPIENT OF THE 2022 ANNUAL NASS MEDALLION AWARD HERE IN OREGON. THE NASS MEDALLION AWARD IS PRESENTED TO INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, OR ORGANIZATIONS BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE TO RECOGNIZE THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN VOTER EDUCATION AND PARTICIPATION, AND CIVIC EDUCATION. IMAGINE BLACK FUTURES WAS SELECTED FOR THIS MEDALLION AWARD FOR OUR WORK AROUND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AMONG BLACK OREGONIANS AND OUR ABILITY TO CRITICALLY PRIORITIZE THE NEEDS OF THE MOST MARGINALIZED AND HISTORICALLY EXCLUDED, HELPING NORMALIZE PRINCIPLES OF DEI AND ALL ASPECTS OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WITH OUR COMPREHENSIVE AND ENGAGING INITIATIVES LIKE THE CHILD CARE STORYTELLING PROJECT, OUR AFRO-ECOLOGY PROGRAM AND THE DRIP (DEFUND, REINVEST, PROTECT) ADVOCACY PROJECT.
