OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD A POWERFUL MOVEMENT FOR A MORE JUST AND PARTICIPATORY MEDIA AND DIGITAL WORLD WITH RACIAL EQUITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ALL.

IN FY23, MEDIA JUSTICE LAUNCHED A CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE TV SHOW RING NATION, SHEDDING LIGHT ON SURVEILLANCE ISSUES LINKED TO AMAZON'S RING DOORBELLS, AND THIS EFFORT GAINED SIGNIFICANT MEDIA ATTENTION. OUR ADVOCACY EFFORTS CONTINUED WITH SUBMISSIONS TO THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION ON DIGITAL DISCRIMINATION AND SURVEILLANCE. ADDITIONALLY, IMPLEMENTING OUR NEW COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY, WITH STRONG STAFF SUPPORT, EXEMPLIFIED OUR COMMITMENT TO EQUITABLE PRACTICES WITHIN OUR ORGANIZATION. FURTHERMORE, WE EXPANDED OUR IMPACTFUL WEB SERIES, "THAT'S SO BLACK,X AND INTRODUCED THE MEDIA JUSTICE NETWORK FELLOWSHIP, A PIVOTAL STEP IN ADDRESSING RACIALIZED DISINFORMATION AND SUPPORTING EMERGING LEADERS IN OUR NETWORK.
