THE ESCALATOR AWARD PROGRAM PROVIDES INSTITUTIONAL FUNDING TO SUPPORT AND ADVANCE WOMEN IN CARDIOLOGY BY PROVIDING TRAINING, RESEARCH GRANTS, MENTORING AND NETWORKING SUPPORT. THE 2023 PROGRAM AWARDED 9 GRANTS, TOTALING $173,000.
THE CLIMB PROGRAM PROVIDES CLINICAL SKILLS TRAINING TO WOMEN IN AREAS OF MEDICINE WHERE THEY ARE HIGHLY UNDERREPRESENTED. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM INCLUDE SMALL GROUP SESSIONS LED BY WORLD RENOWN EXPERTS, AND FOCUSED ATTENTION ON NETWORKING AMONG ALL ATTENDEES AND SPONSORS. THE 2023 RISE PROGRAM FOCUSED ON BUILDING DIVERSITY EQUITY AND INCLUSION CONSENSUS AMONG MULTIPLE STAKEHOLDER ORGANIZATIONS AND ON CREATING NETWORKING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN PHYSICIANS. NEARLY 150 WOMEN PHYSICIANS ATTENDED THE PROGRAM HOSTED IN NEW YORK CITY AND EVALUATION RESULTS WERE HIGHLY POSITIVE, WITH MANY ATTENDEES NOTING THEY FELT INSPIRED TO PURSUE THEIR PROFESSIONAL GOALS AS A RESULT OF ATTENDING RISE.
