Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
ROCKVALE WRITER'S COLONY (RWC) PROVIDES ASPIRING WRITERS WITH A DISTRACTION-FREE ENVIRONMENT THAT IS NECESSARY FOR CREATING INTENSE, FOCUSED WORKS. WRITERS WHO NEED A QUIET PLACE TO WORK ON AN UPCOMING PROJECT CAN STAY ON THE PREMISES (THE "COLONY") AS A WAY TO IMPROVE AN EXISTING WORK, COMPLETE AN EXISTING PROJECT , OR SIMPLY TO IMPROVE OVERALL WRITING SKILLS. WRITERS GENERALLY STAY AT THE COLONY BETWEEN 1-4 WEEKS, DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE PROJECT AND/OR THE NEEDS OF THE WRITER. IN ADDITION TO OFFERING A PEACEFUL WORK ENVIRONMENT, RWC CONDUCTS WORKSHOPS AND GENRE-SPECIFIC RETREATS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THAT ALLOW ASPIRING WRITERS TO LEARN WAYS TO IMPROVE THEIR CRAFT. RWC ALSO HAS A MENTORSHIP PROGRAM WHERE THE WRITERS ATTENDING RWC'S EVENTS CAN RECEIVE FOCUSED FEEDBACK ON THE PROJECTS THEY ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON. AS MORE FUNDS ARE RAISED, RWC INTENDS TO CONTINUE FINDING WAYS TO SUPPORT MORE AND MORE WRITERS IN FURTHERING AND IMPROVING THEIR CRAFT.
