THE HAWAIIAN LEGEND SERIES WAS DEDICATED TO SHINING THE SPOTLIGHT ON ICONIC HAWAI?I MUSICIANS OF THE 70S, WHO WERE AT THE CREATIVE FOREFRONT AS HAWAI?IS MUSIC REINVENTED ITSELF. THE SOLD-OUT SHOWS WERE IN PERSON, SERVING OVER 1,300 AUDIENCE MEMBERS AND EMPLOYING 150+ MUSIC AND INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS. IN ADDITION, TICKET BUYERS MADE DONATIONS ONLINE AND IN-PERSON. BLUE NOTE HAWAII PROVIDED HKF $525 IN DONATIONS OBTAINED VIA THE POS FOR TICKETS.*HOME IN THE ISLANDS CONCERT*AS A BENEFICIARY OF THE HOME IN THE ISLANDS CONCERT, THE HKF RECEIVED $1 PER TICKET + 25% OF THE NET TICKET PROCEEDS, ALONG WITH OTHER EVENT-RELATED DONATIONS, RESULTING IN OVER $50,000 IN DONATIONS TO HKF. *THE CONCERT PROVIDED A PLATFORM TO EDUCATE THE AUDIENCE ABOUT THE BENEFITS AND PROGRAMS OF HKF TO THE MUSIC COMMUNITY THROUGH 5 INFO-VIDEOS RANGING FROM 30 SECONDS TO OVER 3 MINUTES, AND 3 DONATION CALL-TO-ACTION SLIDES DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THE CONCERT, RESULTING IN EVENT-RELATED DONATIONS OF OVER $4,300.*AS A WORK PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM, THIS MUSICAL SHOWCASE SPONSORED 19 FEATURED ENTERTAINERS THROUGH THE FRIENDS SPONSORSHIP AND IMPACTED HUNDREDS OF LOCAL FAMILIES AND BUSINESSES, INJECTING OVER $500,000 INTO THE RECENTLY DECIMATED ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WHILE PROVIDING MEANINGFUL WORK TO OVER 500 OF HAWAI?I'S MUSIC INDUSTRY WORKFORCE AND RELATED PROFESSIONALS. PARTNERSHIPS HKF HAS DEVELOPED A UNIQUE WAY TO INCORPORATE CUSTOM PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT AND LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS INTO OUR PROGRAMS GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS. WE INTEND TO GROW THIS MODEL, WHICH ALLOWS US TO OFFER THE EXPERTISE & SERVICES OF OTHER ESTABLISHED ORGANIZATIONS IN SELECT AREAS THAT BENEFIT OUR MUSIC INDUSTRY. THIS ALLOWS HKF TO DO MORE FOR MORE PEOPLE WITHOUT EXHAUSTING INTERNAL RESOURCES.HKF PROGRAMS*WE ARE FRIENDS 2.0 THE HKF LAUNCHED AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE WE ARE FRIENDS GROCERY CARD PROGRAM UNDER THE WE ARE FRIENDS 2.0 EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE MUSIC INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS WITH BASIC ESSENTIALS. RESOURCES*THE MUSICIANS TOOLBOX HKF CONTINUED TO MAINTAIN AND GROW THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE IN OUR MUSICIANS TOOLBOX, DIGITAL RESOURCE CENTER, OFFERING HELPFUL INDUSTRY TOOLS, SUCH AS MUSIC BUSINESS RESOURCES, FINANCIAL SERVICES, HEALTH & WELLNESS ASSISTANCE. MARKETING EFFORTS VIA EBLASTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA REACHED 1,419 PEOPLE, LEADING TO 691 VISITS TO HKF MUSICIANS TOOLBOX WEB PAGES.MUSIC EDUCATIONAL GRANTS (MEG) *HO'OLA NA PUA HKF FACILITATED A DONATION OF OVER 20 MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS/EQUIPMENT VALUED AT $2,500 FROM EASY MUSIC TO HO'OLA NA PUA'S PEARL HAVEN CAMPUS IN FALL 2021 IN PREPARATION FOR MUSIC CLASSES TO START IN EARLY 2022. WITH $5,000 FROM HKF AND $7,000 IN DIRECT DONATIONS TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT THE UH WCC MUSIC DEPARTMENT IN DECEMBER 2022, THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND WILL PROVIDE UP TO 2 STUDENTS WITH 50% TUITION AWARDS AND 5 STUDENTS WITH 25% TUITION AWARDS ANNUALLY FOR THE 2023-24 SCHOOL YEAR.
