CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS


PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OVERSEE AND COORDINATE FOUNDATION OPERATIONS BOOKKEEPING PREPARING IRS DOCUMENTS BANKING. DOES NOT INCLUDED EXCISE TAX OR ELECTRONIC FILING FEES


SKYWOOD FOOD FOREST: SKYWOOD PRODUCTION INCREASED THIS YEAR THANKS IN PART TO FAVORABLE WEATHER AS WELL AS THE MATURATION OF PLANTINGS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS. SEVERAL NEW FRUIT VEGETABLE AND NUT VARIETIES CAME AVAILABLE FOR DONATION TO THE BELLINGHAM FOOD BANK AND BIRCHWOOD FOOD DESERT FIGHTERS NON-PROFITS. MULTIPLE TOURS AND A HALF DOZEN CONSULTS WERE CONDUCTED CONTINUING THE EDUCATIONAL GOALS OF SKYWOOD. IN THE SPRING THE WORK WAS FINISHED ON THE INSTALLATION OF THE SOLAR PANELS WHICH ALLOW FOR STORING WATER IN THE SYSTEM INTO THE DRY SUMMER MONTHS. ONCE AGAIN NEW PLANTINGS AS WELL AS THE PROPAGATION OF OLDER PLANTINGS ACCOMPLISHED THIS YEAR WILL CONTINUE TO EXPAND THE HARVEST FOR DONATION IN THE COMING YEARS.


TEACHING TUTORING AND EDUCATION: KARA BLACK TAUGHT ENGLISH TO ADULTS THROUGH WHATCOM COMMUNITY COLLEGE TUTORING OF SMALL GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS IN AND OUT OF THE CLASSROOM. SHE OFFERED NO-COST PRIVATE TUTORING IN ENGLISH TO SEVERAL ADULTS AND CHILDREN. EARLY IN THE YEAR SHE OFFERED NO-COST K-8 TUTORING TO A LOW INCOME STUDENT IN MIXED SUBJECTS. IN ADDITION SHE CONTINUED TO COORDINATE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING FOR TWO REFUGEE FAMILIES.
