TUTORING LOW INCOME K-8 CHILDREN. THE CIEL FOUNDATION STARTING NOVEMBER 2020 PAID FOR FIVE LOW-INCOME CHILDREN TO BE TUTORED AS OFTEN AS WEEKLY BY KARA BLACK THE FOUNDATION'S MANAGER. MS. BLACK HAS A WA K-8TH TEACHING CERTIFICATION AND HAS EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE TUTORING AND TEACHING CHILDREN. THE CIEL FOUNDATION PAID FOR A TOTAL OF 87 SESSIONS IN 2021 FOR THESE FIVE CHILDREN WHO RANGE FROM 8 TO 13 YEARS OF AGE AND ALL QUALIFY FOR FREE LUNCH. THE SESSIONS MAINLY FOCUSED ON MATH BUT SOME FOCUSED ALSO ON LANGUAGE ARTS DEPENDING ON THE WISHES OF EACH FAMILY. STUDENTS RANGED FROM BEING TWO TO FIVE YEARS BEHIND GRADE LEVEL IN THEIR TUTORING SUBJECT. THE STUDENTS PROGRESSED QUICKLY SOMETIMES JUMPING A FULL GRADE LEVEL IN A MATTER OF MONTHS.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OVERSEE & COORDINATE FOUNDATION'S WORK BOOKKEEPING PREPARING IRS DOCUMENTS BANKING--INCLUDING BANK FEES. DOES NOT INCLUDE TAXES OR ELECTRONIC FILER FEES
SKYWOOD CONTINUED ITS KEY GOALS OF BOTH FOOD DONATION AND EDUCATION THIS YEAR. TOURS FOR WELL OVER 100 PEOPLE WERE CONDUCTED AND WE HOSTED A PERMACULTURE MEET-UP AND TOUR FOR SOME 25 TO 30 PEOPLE IN THE FALL. IN ADDITION SKYWOOD EMPLOYED A COUPLE OF YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN PERMACULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY DURING THE YEAR AND TOOK ON A VOLUNTEER FOR MUCH OF THE HARVESTING. SKYWOOD AGAIN DONATED MUCH OF ITS PRODUCE TO THE BIRCHWOOD FOOD DESERT FIGHTERS. IN THE FALL A NEW POND CONSTRUCTION SERVED AS AN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY WHILE DRAMATICALLY INCREASING WATER STORAGE FOR THE FOOD FOREST. MULTIPLE NEW PLANTINGS ADDED TO THE PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES OF SKYWOOD FOR THE FUTURE. AMOUNT INCLUDES PAYMENT OF UTILITIES FOR THE FOREST--WATER.
