THE CHRIS DUDLEY FOUNDATION IS A RESOURCE AND A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR KIDS, TEENS, YOUNG ADULTS & ADULTS WITH DIABETES AND THE PEOPLE WHO SHARE THEIR LIVES. THEY HOST CAMPS AND CLINICS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE (BETWEEN THE AGES OF 10 AND 17) WITH TYPE 1 DIABETES ARE DESIGNED TO TEACH ALL PARTICIPANTS A SENSE OF HOW TO PLAY AN INTENSIVE SPORT WHILE CONTROLLING THEIR DIABETES. CAMPS ARE HELD ONCE A YEAR AND ARE WEEK-LONG EVENTS. CLINICS OCCUPY ONE-TO-THREE DAYS AND ARE HELD SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR, IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. ADDITIONALLY, THEY CONDUCT SEMINARS ABOUT DIABETES TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE YOUNG PEOPLE BATTLING DIABETES. (AND ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED IN THE WELFARE OF THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE.) LASTLY, THEY ORGANIZE THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST DIABETES WEEK. THIS IS AN ANNUAL EVENT DESIGNED TO UNITE THE DIABETES COMMUNITIES IN A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT TO BRING DIABETES TO LIGHT FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK, TO CHANGE HOW DIABETES IS VIEWED AND TREATED, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, HOW IT EVOLVES.
