(1) THE PURPOSE OF PHARMACY OF GRACE, INC. IS TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF HOMELESSNESS, POVERTY, SCHOOL ABSENTEE DAYS, AND UNEMPLOYMENT CAUSED BY UNMANAGED MEDICAL CONDITIONS. MANY CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS (SUCH AS HYPERTENSION, DIABETES, CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, ASTHMA, COPD, BI-POLAR, AND MIGRAINES) OFTEN GO UNMANAGED, WHICH EVENTUALLY CAN CAUSE PEOPLE TO SEEK COSTLY MEDICAL CARE AND POSSIBLE EMERGENCY HOSPITALIZATION. (2) THE MISSION OF PHARMACY OF GRACE IS TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION FOR UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED INDIVIDUALS AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS, MANY TIMES AT NO COST, AVAILABLE TO VULNERABLE POPULATIONS IN KANSAS. (3) OUR VISION IS FOR ALL PEOPLE, REGARDLESS OF AGE, RACE, NATIONAL ORIGIN, ETHNICITY, GENDER, RELIGION, DISABILITY OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION, TO HAVE AFFORDABLE AND SUSTAINABLE ACCESS TO PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS AND PHARMACY SERVICES THAT OPTIMIZE HEALTH IN OUR COMMUNITY. PHARMACY OF GRACE (POG) WAS APPROVED FOR 501(C)3 STATUS IN LATE FEBRUARY 2019. DURING 2019, POG FOCUSED ON BUILDING CAPACITY AND PREPARATIONS FOR OPERATING A PHARMACY. IN 2020 DURING POG'S FUNDRAISING PHASE, OPERATIONS CAME TO A HALT DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND HEALTHCARE FUNDERS REDIRECTING ALL POTENTIAL FUNDS TOWARD THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19. IN LATE 2020, POG WAS ABLE TO RESTART ACTIVITY AND DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS WITH MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS. THE RECEIPT OF THREE GRANTS IN MID 2021 ALLOWED POG TO MOVE TOWARD OPENING THE FIRST LOCATION. HEALTH FORWARD FOUNDATION, CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION, AND ADVENT HEALTH MADE SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENTS IN THE MISSION. INDIVIDUAL DONORS ALSO CONTRIBUTED OVER $245,000 THAT HELPED PUSH THE ORGANIZATION FORWARD. IN 2022, POG STARTED NEGOTIATIONS FOR A NEW LOCATION IN THE MERCY & TRUTH MEDICAL BUILDING AND SIGNED A LEASE TO LOCATE IN THE BUILDING STARTING MID-2022.
