THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF THIS CORPORATION IS TO PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND IMPROVE THE BENEFICIAL USE OF GROUNDWATER FOR AGRICULTURAL OWNERS AND LESSEES IN THE EASTERN TULE GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY AGENCY (ETGSA) WHITE AREA BY ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE: (1) ESTABLISHING AND/OR PARTICIPATING IN A COHESIVE GROUP TO ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF WHITE AREA GROUNDWATER USERS THAT USE GROUNDWATER AND/OR NON-DISTRICT SURFACE WATER AS OF THE DATE OF INCORPORATION OF THE CORPORATION; (2) DEVELOPING AND PROMOTING POLICIES THAT PROTECT AND SUPPORT THE INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS WITH RESPECT TO SUSTAINABLE GROUNDWATER USE; (3) PROVIDING THE CORPORATIONS MEMBERS WITH INFORMATION REGARDING (I) SUSTAINABLE GROUNDWATER USE, (II) DEVELOPMENT OF A GROUNDWATER SUSTAINABILITY PLAN (GSP) BY ETGSA AS REQUIRED BY THE SUSTAINABLE GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT ACT (SGMA), (III) IMPLEMENTATION OF ETGSAS GSP WHEN IT BECOMES EFFECTIVE, AND (IV) OTHER SGMA-RELATED INFORMATION AND DEVELOPMENTS; AND (4) PARTICIPATING IN THE PROMULGATION OF A GSP BY ETGSA AS REQUIRED BY SMGA.
