THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED HOUSEHOLDS IN THE GREATER BALTIMORE REGION. THIS INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL TUITION ASSISTANCE, EQUESTRIAN LESSONS, WOODSHOP AND CRAFT ACTIVITIES AND A SUMMER DAY CAMP ON MARYLAND'S EASTERN SHORE. DURING 2022, 2 CHILDREN RECEIVED TUITION ASSISTANCE. ADDITIONALLY, 421 COATS WERE PURCHASED FOR LOW-INCOME CHILDREN AND 1,600 EQUESTRIAN RIDING AND GROOMING LESSONS WERE PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 210 CHILDREN. WOODSHOP AND CRAFTS HAD ABOUT 42 LESSONS OVER THE YEAR PROVIDING LESSOPNS TO ABOUT 12 TO 16 CHILDREN. APPROXIMATELY 60 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THE SUMMER DAY CAMP.
THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED THREE LOW-INCOME DISABLED PERSONS WITH ASSISTANCE. THE ASSISTANCE WAS STRUCTURE BASED ON THEIR NEEDS. ALL THESE FUNDS WERE USED TO ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE DISABLED PERSONS FROM THEIR BURDENS.
THE FOUNDATION'S DISASTER AID PROGRAM PROVIDED 11 FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY FUNDING. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED FUNDS FOR RENT ASSISTANCE AND GIFT CARDS FOR GROCERY STORES AS WELL AS OTHER NEEDS SINCE MANY LOW-INCOME PEOPLE EITHER LOST THEIR JOBS OR HAD A REDUCTION IN INCOME OR DEALING WITH A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. ADDITIONALLY,THE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN PROVIDING 40 WARM FRESH MEALS FOUR TIMES PER WEEK TO LOW- INCOME FAMILIES TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 8,300 WARM MEALS SERVED.
