THE PURPOSE OF THE CORPORATION IS TO PROMOTE COMMON INTERESTS OF AND IMPROVE THE BUSINESS CONDITIONS FOR MOBILE LODGING BUSINESSES BY SERVING AS THE DISTRICT MANAGEMENT CORPORATION FOR THE MOBILE TOURISM IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT AND OTHER PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES.

THE MOBILE AREA LODGING CORPORATION (CORPORATION) COLLECTS ASSESSMENTS FROM HOTELS WITHIN ITS TOURISM IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (DISTRICT). ASSESSMENTS FUNDED MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS INITIATIVES THAT PROMOTE TOURISM, FOCUSING ON INCREASING OVERNIGHT STAYS IN THE CITY OF MOBILE. THESE INITIATIVES INCLUDE SEARCH ENGINE MARKETING (SEM), DIGITAL DISPLAY BANNER ADVERTISING, ONLINE TRAVEL AGENCY (OTA) ADVERTISING, SOCIAL MEDIA ADVERTISING, MEDIA PRINT ADVERTISING, AND SPONSORED A PUBLIC RELATIONS PRESS TRIP. IN ADDITION, EIGHTEEN DISTRICT HOTELS RECEIVED VIRTUAL TOUR PHOTOGRAPHY, AND A NEW BRANDING VIDEO TO INCREASE TOURISM INTO THE CITY MOBILE WAS CREATED. FINALLY, THE CORPORATION CONTRACTED RESEARCHERS TO PERFORM DESTINATION RESEARCH OF VISITOR ARRIVALS INTO THE CITY, ENABLING MORE STRATEGIC USAGE OF MARKETING AND ADVERTISING FUNDS IN THE FUTURE. THE FOLLOWING HIGHLIGHTS SOME OF THE RESULTS OF THESE INITIATIVES: -SEM EFFORTS CREATED 114,436 IMPRESSIONS, 9,951 CLICKS, AND 2,383 CONVERSIONS. -DIGITAL DISPLAY BANNER ADS CREATED 6.5 M IN REVENUE SPENT IN MOBILE. -OTA ADS CREATED 6.7 M IN HOTEL BOOKINGS. -SOCIAL MEDIA ADS CREATED 3.1M IMPRESSIONS AND 497,004 LINK CLICKS. AN ADDITIONAL 5M IMPRESSIONS AND 638,325 LINK CLICKS WERE CREATED DURING THE AVELO AIRLINES CAMPAIGN. -DESTINATION RESEARCH TRACKED 860K VISITORS TRIPS TO MOBILE. OF THESE TRIPS 509K WERE OVERNIGHT STAYS. -VIRTUAL TOUR PHOTOGRAPHY RECEIVED 705K GOOGLE VIEWS OF THE 20 PARTICIPATING HOTELS AND THE MOBILE CONVENTION CENTER.
