CIV:LAB CONNECTS LOCAL ACTORS WITH THE RESOURCES AND FUNDING REQUIRED TO LAUNCH BOLD RESPONSES TO THE THREATS OF CLIMATE CHANGE. CIV:LAB AIMS TO EXPAND THE CLIMATE WORKFORCE, EDUCATE FUTURE CLIMATE LEADERS, ACCELERATE INDUSTRIAL DECARBONIZATION, AND PROVIDE AID TO THE ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE TAKING ACTION AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

URBAN TECH SUMMIT (FORMERLY KNOWN AS SMARTCITIES NEW YORK) - THE URBAN TECH SUMMIT IS AN ANNUAL EVENT THAT TAKES PLACE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CORNELL TECH AND EMERGENCE CREATIVE. THE SUMMIT IS A LEADING GLOBAL SUMMIT THAT BRINGS TOGETHER LEADERS FROM ACROSS INDUSTRIES AND SECTORS TO EXPLORE THE EMERGING INFLUENCE OF CITIES IN SHAPING THE FUTURE. TOGETHER WITH THE JACOBS URBAN TECH HUB AT CORNELL TECH AND EMERGENCE CREATIVE, CIV:LAB PUT TOGETHER THE CLIMATE MOBILIZATION FOR THE FIFTH YEAR OF SMART CITIES NEW YORK. WE GATHERED TOGETHER OVER 60 SPEAKERS, AND 350 ATTENDEES FROM ALL DIFFERENT SECTORS FOR THE CLIMATE MOBILIZATION.


CLIMATE FUND I & COMMUNITY CO-LABS - AN INTERMEDIARY FUND COMPRISING CORPORATE AND PHILANTHROPIC GIVING AND GOVERNMENT CAPITAL DESIGNED TO SET UP LOCAL COMMUNITY CLIMATE FUNDS AND SUPPORT CLIMATE IMPACT AT THE COMMUNITY/LOCAL LEVEL THROUGH GRANTMAKING AND LEVERAGING CITIES AS HUBS. FOR NYC: TWO ROUNDS OF GRANT FUNDING (TOTALING $500,000 GIVEN OUT BETWEEN WINTER 2022 AND FALL 2023). FOR MICHIGAN: ONE ROUND OF GRANT FUNDING (TOTAL OF $500,000) GIVEN OUT IN SUMMER 2023.


DETROIT URBAN SOLUTIONS (WORKING WITH TECHTOWN / WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY) - OUR WORK IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY AND TECHTOWN HELPING BUILD AN ECOSYSTEM OF STAKEHOLDERS WHO WILL HELP SHAPE URBAN INNOVATION AND TECH-BASED SOLUTIONS THAT CAN DELIVER VALUE TO THE SE MICHIGAN REGION. OUR CONTRACT WITH TECHTOWN AFFILIATED WITH WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY ENDED IN 2022.
