THE ORGANIZING ALLIANCE (TOA) ACTIVITIES WERE AND ARE CONSISTENT WITH SOCIAL WELFARE PURPOSES UNDER SECTION 501 (C)(4) OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. IF THE ORGANIZING ALLIANCE CONDUCTED ANY POLITICAL ACTIVITY (WHETHER DISCUSSED IN THIS REPORT OR NOT), THE ORGANIZING ALLIANCE COMPLIED WITH THE APPLICABLE LIMITS OF INTERNAL REVENUE CODE SECTION 501(C)(4).A.COMPLETED OUTCOME TABLEIN 2021- 2022 THE ORGANIZING ALLIANCE (TOAS) PRIMARY GOAL WAS TO CONTINUE TO RUN A VOTER REGISTRATION EFFORT BEGUN IN 2020 WITH A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON THE AFRICAN AMERICAN VOTE IN CLARK COUNTY, ALONG WITH INFORMING THE COMMUNITY ON CLEAN ENERGY EFFORTS FOR THE UPCOMING LEGISLATION SESSIONS IN 2023. CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED/LESSONS LEARNEDTHE ORGANIZING ALLIANCE DIDN'T FACE ANY UNUSUAL CHALLENGES IN 2022.LESSONS LEARNED: GIVEN THE CRITICAL ROLE OF CANVASSERS, TOA ALLOWED SOME STAFF TO WORK FROM HOME. IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR TOA TO RECALIBRATE OUR INFORMATION STRATEGIES TO HELP THE PUBLIC UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS TO GET A VACCINE SHOT (IF NOT ALREADY DONE,) AND TO LEARN ABOUT CLEAN ENERGY. TOA HELPED WITH OTHER COMMUNITIES' ORGANIZATIONS TO ENGAGE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY ON VOTER INFORMATION. ONE MAJOR ASPECT OF INFORMING THE PUBLIC WAS HOSTING EVENTS TO HELP THEM LEARN ABOUT CLEAN ENERGY AND VOTER INFORMATION.ACCOMPLISHMENTS:TOA HOSTED SEVEN (7) ZOOM MEETINGS WITH THE PUBLIC, INFORMING THEM ABOUT CLEAN ENERGY ISSUES IN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY.TOA HOSTED SEVERAL PHONE BANK PROGRAMS WHICH RESULTED IN 11,780 CALLS, AND WE EXCEEDED OUR TEXTING PROGRAM FOR THE YEAR BY 3,244 TEXTS.TOA HAS WORKED WITH A COALITION OF GRASS ROOT ORGANIZATIONS FROM JANUARY 1, 2022, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2022. TOA'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:AB465 EXPANDED SOLAR ACCESS (ALLOWS MORE NEVADANS TO USE CLEAN ENERGY FOR THEIR HOMES, REDUCING RATES FOR SOME LOW-INCOME CUSTOMERS. EXPANDS JOB TRAINING AND PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN SOLAR INDUSTRY). WORKING WITH NEVADA ENERGY ON GETTING LOW-INCOME CUSTOMERS TO HAVE THEIR BILLS LOWERED.
