THE CITIZEN ASTRONAUT PROGRAM IS THE EVOLUTION OF THE OVERVIEW LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. IT INCLUDES THE OVERVIEW LEADERSHIP PROGRAM, AS WELL AS SEVERAL IMPORTANT ASPECTS INCLUDING SELECTION, FLIGHT, AND GREATER SUPPORT. SPACE FOR HUMANITY'S GOAL IS TO LEVERAGE THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF THE OVERVIEW EFFECT TO ENACT POSITIVE CHANGE HERE ON EARTH. THE PERSPECTIVE ASTRONAUTS GAINED ALONG THE WAY HAS SHAPED SOCIETY IN EXTRAORDINARY WAYS. WE AIM TO GIVE MORE PEOPLE ACCESS TO THIS EXPERIENCE TO HELP HUMANITY IMPROVE OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER AND OUR HOME PLANET. WE SPONSOR EXCEPTIONAL LEADERS TO JOIN THE WORLD'S FIRST CITIZEN ASTRONAUT PROGRAM AND THE APPLICATION TO OUR PROGRAM IS OPEN TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD. OUR OVERVIEW LEADERSHIP PROGRAM PREPARES CITIZEN ASTRONAUTS FOR THEIR SPACEFLIGHT, SUPPORTS THEM IN INTEGRATING THEIR FLIGHT EXPERIENCE, AND UPON THEIR RETURN, THEY ARE TRAINED IN COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY WORK SO THEY WILL LEARN HOW TO IMPLEMENT THE OVERVIEW PERSPECTIVE HERE ON EARTH. SINCE LAUNCHING OUR CITIZEN ASTRONAUT PROGRAM WE HAVE ESTABLISHED A PARTNERSHIP WITH VIRGIN GALACTIC AND OMAZE THAT LED TO US BEING ABLE TO SURPRISE A WINNER FROM THE CARIBBEAN WITH A SEAT ON THE NEXT SPACE FLIGHT.
DIVERSIFYING & EXPANDING THE GLOBAL NETWORK IS AN EXPANDED VERSION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN REWORKED AND EXPANDED, WITH A FOCUS ON EDUCATION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, COMMUNITY EXPANSION THROUGH ONLINE MEANS, AND SPEAKING AT EVENTS. SPACE FOR HUMANITY HEAVILY LEVERAGES SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE, TO SHARE OUR MESSAGE OF INCLUSIVITY WITHIN SPACE EXPLORATION WITH ALL THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED AND PASSIONATE. IN 2021, WE INCREASED OUR GLOBAL REACH SUBSTANTIALLY, WE WERE ABLE TO REACH 122K INSTAGRAM FOLLOWERS, AND 6.5K TWITTER FOLLOWERS. WE ALSO HAD OVER 49K WEBSITE SESSIONS AND WE SENT 33 EMAILS OUT TO OUR NETWORK. IN ADDITION, WE HOSTED LAUNCH PARTIES FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND HAD ENGAGEMENT FROM MORE THAN 195 COUNTRIES.
INCLUSION COUNCIL & ALLIANCE NETWORK IS AN EXPANDED VERSION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN REWORKED AND EXPANDED, WITH A FOCUS ON EDUCATION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA, COMMUNITY EXPANSION THROUGH ONLINE MEANS, AND SPEAKING AT EVENTS. SPACE FOR HUMANITY HAS A STRONG COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVITY FOR ALL HUMANITY. WE HAVE FORMED AN INCLUSION COUNCIL THAT CONSISTS OF A DIVERSE GROUP OF LEADERS WHOSE MAIN FOCUS IS TO ADVISE THE ORGANIZATION ON THE CITIZEN ASTRONAUT SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS. THEY ALSO WORK TO INFORM US OF BEST PRACTICES IN EQUITY, INCLUSION, DIVERSITY, AND ACCESSIBILITY. AS THE ALLIANCE NETWORK CONTINUES TO FORM, WE ARE BRINGING ON MORE ASTRONAUTS, ADVISORS, FLIGHT PROVIDERS, AND MEDIA PARTNERS THAT SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPACE FOR HUMANITIES PROGRAMS.
