ORGANIZATION'S FEES ARE BASED ON ABILITY TO PAY, USING HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND FAMILY SIZE TO DETERMINE A FAIR AND AFFORDABLE PRICE FOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION.

PROVISION OF REDUCED COST AND FREE (PRO BONO) LEGAL SERVICES TO HOUSEHOLDS WITH INCOME UNDER 400% OF THE POVERTY LEVEL. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCACY PROGRAM. IN OCTOBER 2020, ORGANIZATION INTRODUCED ITS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCACY PROGRAM (DVAP) AND BOLSTERED ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH AGENCIES SERVING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA. ORGANIZATION ANTICIPATED SERVING 24 VICTIMS IN ITS FIRST YEAR. AS OF JUNE 30, 2022, ORGANIZATION PROVIDED CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES TO 79 PRIMARY VICTIMS AND 194 SECONDARY VICTIMS (I.E., CHILDREN) IN 115 INDIVIDUAL FAMILY AND FINANCIAL LEGAL MATTERS ACROSS SIX COUNTIES--70% OF WHICH WERE AT NO COST TO ITS CLIENTS THANKS TO LOCAL AND GOVERNMENT GRANT FUNDING. DVAP CONTINUES TO RECEIVE AN AVERAGE OF THREE REFERRALS WEEKLY FROM LOCAL SHELTERS.
