TO PROVIDE RELIEF IN TIMES OF CRISIS TO EMPLOYEES AND FORMER EMPLOYEES OF AT&T AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND SUCCESSORS.

THE EMPLOYEE RELIEF FUND MAKES GRANTS TO AT&T EMPLOYEES, FORMER EMPLOYEES, OR MEMBERS OF EMPLOYEES' IMMEDIATE FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY HARDSHIP DUE TO AN UNEXPECTED EVENT BEYOND THEIR CONTROL. SUCH EVENTS INCLUDE NATURAL DISASTERS, EXTENDED ILLNESS OR INJURY, DEATH, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND OTHER EMERGENCIES. GRANTS ARE DISBURSED TO HELP AFFECTED INDIVIDUALS MEET SHORT-TERM NEEDS, INCLUDING AMOUNTS TO HELP PAY FOR ESSENTIAL EXPENSES, SUCH AS HOUSING, UTILITIES, FOOD, CLOTHING, AND OTHER BASIC NECESSITIES. THE EMPLOYEE RELIEF FUND MAY ALSO PROVIDE LONG-TERM ASSISTANCE ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS FOR NATURAL DISASTER, FIRE, OR FLOOD THAT TOTALLY DESTROYS AN EMPLOYEE'S RESIDENCE. FUNDING FOR THE EMPLOYEE RELIEF FUND PRIMARILY COMES FROM EMPLOYEES OF AT&T SERVICES, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES (AT&T). IN THE FUTURE, AT&T MAY MAKE SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND OR INSTITUTE A MATCHING PROGRAM WHERE AT&T WOULD MATCH A CERTAIN PERCENTAGE OF EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND.
