THE MISSION OF YOUTH JUSTICE FUND IS TO ASSIST RETURNING CITIZENS, SENTENCED AS YOUTH TO A TERM OF IMPRISONMENT, WITH THE SERVICES AND RESOURCES NECESSARY TO ENSURE HUMAN DIGNITY AND FULL PARTICIPATION IN THEIR COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING HOUSING, TRANSPORTATION, TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, AND JOB ASSISTANCE.

3-DAY CAMPING RETREAT THAT ENTAILED GROUP THERAPY WORKSHOPS, SWIMMING AND GROUP ACTIVITIES LIKE COOK-OUTS AND ART WORKSHOPS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF CONTRACTED, LICENSED COUNSELORS. FOOD, LODGING, AND WORKSHOP MATERIALS WERE PURCHASED.
TRAUMA INFORMED WORKSHOPS USING ART-THERAPY AND LICENSED COUNSELOR. FOOD AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDED WITH GIFT CARDS FOR THE CLIENT PARTICIPANTS. A TOTAL OF 6 WORKSHOPS WERE PROVIDED THROUGHT THE YEAR.
THIS YEAR YJF ASSISTED IT'S CLIENTS IN POST-SECONDARY ENROLLMENT. THIS WAS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE GRANT PROVIDED BY ICAN IN 2019 EARMARKED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF HIRING A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR.
YJF ASSISTED CLIENTS IN OBTAINING LICENSES, VEHICLES, REPAIRING VEHICLES, CLOTHING, FOOD, TRAUMA INFORMED CARE, EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THROUGH CAMPING TRIPS AND OUTDOOR RELATED ACTIVITIES, AND HOUSING BY ASSISTING WITH RENT PAYMENTS.
