P2P HAS HAD... > 700+ CURRENTLY & FORMERLY INCARCERATED MEN AND WOMEN APPLY TO THE PROGRAM. > 200+ PEOPLE START THE PROGRAM > 130+ SCHOLARS COMPLETE THE PROGRAM > 90-95% EMPLOYMENT & MATRICULATION RATE > 19 COHORTS COMPLETED > 2 WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT COHORTS STARTED IN 2020 LED BY THE WOMEN LEADERS OF THE ORG. WE'VE ALWAYS HAD WOMEN IN THE COHORTS BUT DECIDED TO BE MORE INTENTIONAL WITH THESE WOMEN ONLY COHORTS. PROGRAMMING IN 6 PRISONS IN 3 STATES > 1 TRANSITIONAL HOUSE OPEN IN 2020 > 30+ FORMERLY INCARCERATED EMPLOYEES 85% OF THE PAID TEAM MEMBERS > 35 STATES WITH A SCHOLAR OR TEAM MEMBER > 250+ VOLUNTEERS > 7 BILLS PASSED THAT WE LED OR CO-LED > 100+ SCHOLARS PARTICIPATE IN ADVOCACY OR HILL DAY EVENTS


WE ARE DEDICATED TO PROMOTING AND ADVOCATING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION FOR CURRENTLY AND FORMERLY INCARCERATED MEN AND WOMEN. THE UNLOCK HIGHER ED COALITION IS A GROUP OF STAKEHOLDERS INTERESTED IN POLICY SOLUTIONS TO INCREASE EDUCATIONAL ACCESS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS.


? P2P TRP WILL HAVE WELL TRAINED PROFESSIONAL TEAM MEMBERS. ? P2P TRP WILL PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOLAR GROWTH AND PERSONAL SUCCESS. ? P2P TRP WILL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN FACILITIES THAT MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR SCHOLARS. ? P2P TRP WILL PROMOTE ACADEMIC SUCCESS AMONG SCHOLARS. ? THE GOAL IS FOR THE P2P TRP SCHOLAR TO MOVE TOWARDS HOUSING INDEPENDENCE WITHIN ONE YEAR. TRP SCHOLARS MUST DO AND PROVIDE PROOF OF THE FOLLOWING: O ACHIEVE ENROLLMENT IN SCHOOL BY 1-MONTH. START SCHOOL WITHIN 2-3-MONTHS. O OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT BY 1-MONTH. PROVIDE A MONTHLY BANK STATEMENT. SAVE AT LEAST $100 PER MONTH. O GAIN EMPLOYMENT BY 2-MONTHS AND PROVIDE BI-WEEKLY PAYCHECK STUBS OR PROOF OF EMPLOYMENT. O OBTAIN A DRIVER'S LICENSE BY 3-6-MONTHS. ? BENEFITS: PERSONAL LAPTOP & STUDENT DESK TO EACH SCHOLAR. $1500 SCHOLARSHIP AND OTHER BENEFITS OF THE P2P PROGRAM SUCH AS INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND BEING MATCHED WITH A P2P MENTOR AND TUTOR. MEETINGS & GROUPS: P2P TRP SCHOLARS MUST ATTEND TWO WEEKLY GROUP SESSIONS ACADEMIC & PERSONAL ENRICHMENT AT THE P2P HOUSE AND P2P SCHOLARS MUST ATTEND SATURDAY P2P COHORT SESSIONS.
