THE PHILADELPHIA BAIL FUND OPERATES A REVOLVING BAIL FUND THAT PROVIDES BAIL ASSISTANCE TO PHILADELPHIANS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PAY FOR THEIR FREEDOM WITHIN THREE DAYS AFTER ARREST. THE PHILADELPHIA BAIL FUND ALSO WORKS WITH SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS TO CONNECT INTERESTED CLIENTS IN NEED WITH RESOURCES IN THE AREAS OF EMPLOYMENT, TREATMENT, AND HOUSING AND ASSISTS CLIENTS WITH TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM COURT. THE PHILADELPHIA BAIL FUND ALSO WORKS WITH ALLIES AND THE COMMUNITY TO ADVOCATE FOR AN END TO CASH BAIL IN PHILADELPHIA THROUGH ORGANIZING, RESEARCH, AND PUBLIC EDUCATION. THE PHILADELPHIA BAIL FUND IS A REVOLVING BAIL FUND AND THUS BAIL PROGRAM EXPENSES ONLY INCLUDE UNRECOVERABLE BAIL COST AND ADMINISTRATIVE BAIL FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE FUND. THE PHILADELPHIA BAIL FUND RECEIVED AN UNPRECENTED AMOUNT OF INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS IN 2020 IN THE WAKE OF THE DEATH OF GEORGE FLOYD AND THE ENSUING PROTEST NATIONWIDE.
