THIS YEAR WE CONTINUED OUR FLAGSHIP PROGRAM OF SUMMER CAMPS WHICH INCLUDED A STRONG SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH, MAINLY COMING FROM LOCAL ORPHANAGES. CAMP WAS RELOCATED FROM THE SCHOOL GROUNDS THAT WERE BEING RENTED TO A FARM THAT HAS ALLOWED MORE NATURE BASED ACTIVITIES TO TAKE PLACE AND MORE SPACE IN GENERAL FOR ACTIVITIES. WE CONTINUE TO WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TWO PERUVIAN UNIVERSITIES TO OFFER CREDIT HOURS TO STUDENTS AS PART OF A COURSE CALLED CAMPS THAT EMPOWER WHERE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS LEARN LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND THEN APPLY THEM AT CAMP. PERUVIAN DIRECTOR DENISSE CALDERON COMPLETED THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPING DIRECTORS COURSE IN SPAIN HOSTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPING FELLOWSHIP. BOTH EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS WERE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE WHICH INCLUDED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS AS WELL AS NETWORKING AMONG THE CAMP SECTOR.
