THE HAWAII RISE FOUNDATIONS MISSION IS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR VULNERABLE, OR MODERATE AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES, CHILDREN AND ELDERLY BY PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, PROGRAMS AND SUPPORT.

VIBRANT HAWAII RESILIENCE HUBS EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES TO LEAD. THESE SPACES ARE DESIGNED AND MANAGED BY LOCAL RESIDENTS WITH SUPPORT FROM PARTNERS IN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, AS WELL AS THE PRIVATE AND NONPROFIT SECTORS. LOCATED IN COMMUNITIES OF NEED THROUGHOUT THE ISLAND, THE HUBS MEET THE IMMEDIATE COMMUNITY OF FOOD ASSISTANCE, COMMUNITY AND FAMILY RESISTANCE, AND CONNECTIVITY ENHANCEMENT. TO STRENGTHEN RELATIONSHIPS, BUILD SOCIAL CAPITAL AND FOSTER WELLNESS, COOPERATION, AND TRUST, THE SPECIFIC PROGRAMS OFFERED BY EACH HUB ARE DRIVEN, PRIORITIZED, AND RUN BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS. DURING 2020, THE ORGANIZATION MADE AND DELIVERED 2,000 MASKS, PREPARED AND DISTRIBUTED 5,000 KUPUNA PACKS OF FOOD AND LIVING NECESSITIES FOR THE ELDERLY, 8,700 KEIKI PACKS OF LEARNING SUPPLIES, 2,096 FOOD BAGS ABLE TO PRODUCE 38,428 MEALS, AND DELIVERED 3,800 HOT MEALS TO HOMES ACROSS THE ISLAND.
WE WORK WITH THE HAWAII NATIONAL GUARD YOUTH CHALLENGE ACADEMY TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS TO TEACH AND ENGAGE THE CADETS ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SKILLS SUCH AS "HOW TO BUILD A RESUME", "MOCK INTERVIEWS", "FINANCIAL WELLNESS (IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HFSFCU)", "HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS", "VISION BOARD BUILDING- AND CPR CERTIFICATIONS.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN ABLE TO ASSIST VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ABUSE WITH THEIR RENTAL EXPENSES TO HELP GET THEM BACK ON THEIR FEET AND HAVE A SAFE PLACE TO CALL HOME FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.
MALAMA I NA KEIKI BACKPACK HAWAII RISE PROVIDED FOOD IN TOTAL TO 1600 CHILDREN OVER 11 MONTHS. THESE MEAL PACKS INCLUDED THE WEEKLY FRUIT AND VEGETABLES FROM THE CHURCH ALONG WITH DONATIONS QUARTERLY FROM HONAUNAU MARKET. THIS HELPED SUPPLEMENT FOOD FOR OUR FAMILIES ON THE WEEKEND SO OUR KIDS WOULD HAVE ADDITIONAL FOOD IN THE HOME WHILE SCHOOL WAS OUT. TOGETHER WE CAN HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION HAS PARTNERED WITH OK FARMS TO PROVIDE COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA) BOXES TO THE K?PUNA IN VARIOUS HAWAI?I ISLAND COMMUNITIES. EACH BOX IS FILLED WITH A VARIETY OF SEASONAL FRUITS, VEGETABLES, AND STARCHES, ALL GROWN LOCALLY HERE IN HAWAI?I. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, WE WILL BE ABLE TO SERVE 680 DIFFERENT K?PUNA ALL AROUND HAWAI?I ISLAND, AS WELL AS SUPPORT OUR LOCAL AGRICULTURE COMMUNITY SIMULTANEOUSLY. 18 DIFFERENT LOCAL FARMS ARE SUPPORTED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
