THE MISSION OF I-ASC IS TO ADVANCE COMMUNICATION ACCESS FOR NONSPEAKING INDIVIDUALS GLOBALLY THROUGH TRAINING, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND RESEARCH. I-ASC'S PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE A VOICE TO NONSPEAKING, MINIMALLY SPEAKING, AND UNRELIABLY SPEAKING INDIVIDUALS THROUGH AAC, SPECIFICALLY THROUGH A METHOD CALLED SPELLING TO COMMUNICATE, OR S2C.

TRAINING - S2C PRACTITIONER TRAINING STARTED 98 NEW PRACTITIONERS IN 9 COHORTS IN 2022 JOINING THE 268 ESTABLISHED PRACTITIONERS. I-ASC PRACTITIONERS ARE NOW SERVING PEOPLE IN 35 US STATES AND 4 CANADIAN PROVINCES ALONG WITH MANY INTERNATIONAL COUNTRIES. I-ASC WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE TUITION ASSISTANCE TO 26 OF THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE 9 COHORTS. PRACTITIONERS PAY THEIR SCHOLARSHIP FORWARD BY PROVIDING FREE SERVICES TO NONSPEAKING CLIENTS IN THEIR COMMUNITY, OFFERING A FREE SESSION PER EVERY $100 OF TUITION ASSISTANCE THEY RECEIVE. CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR OUR REGISTERED S2C PRACTITIONERS EXTENDED TO MONTHLY FREE WEBINARS AND CLIENT DISCUSSIONS WITH 118 IN OUR PRACTITIONER PORTAL. OVER 40 OF OUR REGISTERED S2C PRACTITIONERS ARE ACTING AS MENTORS AND GRADERS IN OUR TRAINING PROGRAM.
EDUCATION - WE CONTINUED PROVIDING FREE EVENTS AND RESOURCES THROUGHOUT 2022. ADDING SOME 26+ FREE LESSONS, 52+ INFORMATIVE ARTICLES, AND 26+ MOTOR HACKS TO THE WEBSITE. THE POPULAR MONTHLY NEUROLYRICAL CAFE WITH 800+ ATTENDEES OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS CONTINUED IN 2022. I-ASC ALSO HOSTED 12 NEW TOPIC FREE WEBINARS AND 12 COMMUNITY VISITS. ALL IN ALL, AROUND 103 FREE MONTHLY TALKS AND WEBINARS ATTENDED BY 8375 PEOPLE. I-ASC LEADERSHIP AND NONSPEAKERS PRESENTED IN OVER 8 CONFERENCES IN 2022. EVENTS CULMINATED IN JULY 2022 WITH THE 6TH ANNUAL MOTORMORPHOSIS CONFERENCE WITH 278+ IN-PERSON ATTENDEES AND 62+ VIRTUAL ATTENDEES. THIS CONFERENCE CONTINUED TO BE THE PRIMARY EVENT SHARING NEW AND VITAL INFORMATION FOR THE CONTINUED PROGRESS OF NONSPEAKING COMMUNICATION ACCESS. KEYNOTE SPEAKERS WERE HARI SRINIVASAN AND ERIC GARCIA DISCUSSING NEURODIVERSE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
ADVOCACY - THE NONSPEAKING LEADERSHIP COUNCIL'S 5 MEMBERS CONTINUED TO PARTICIPATE IN NUMEROUS FACETS OF THE SPELLERVERSE. WRITING BLOGS, HOSTING I-ASC EVENTS, AND ATTENDING CONFERENCES. THE NLC WERE ALSO THE HOSTS AT SPELLX AND PRESENTERS AT MOTORMORPHOSIS AS WELL AS MANY YEARLY WEBINARS. SPELLERS & ALLIES ADVOCACY NETWORK WITH OVER 50 MEMBERS WROTE 500+ LETTERS FOR A PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN. THEY PRESENTED AT MOTORMORPHOSIS 2022 AND WORKED ON GROWING THEIR NETWORK. FEBRUARY 20212SHOWCASED OUR FIRST ANNUAL FREE BOARDS & CHORDS CONCERT WITH 500+ REGISTRANTS. NONSPEAKERS WROTE BEAUTIFULLY PERFORMED SONGS IN THIS ONE-OF-A-KIND MUSIC FESTIVAL THAT WAS SIMPLY EARTH SHATTERING. NOVEMBER BROUGHT OUR 3RD ANNUAL SPELLX EVENT WITH 1400+ REGISTRANTS IN 38 COUNTRIES ATTENDING. OVER 30 NONSPEAKERS CAME TO TOGETHER FOR THIS VIRTUAL SALON-STYLE EVENT, PASSIONATELY SHARING THEIR POETRY, TALENTS, AND WORDS. DEMONSTRATING ONCE AGAIN THAT NONSPEAKING DOES NOT MEAN NONTHINKING.
