BYTE SERVED 3,115 UNDUPLICATED STUDENT-ATHLETES IN 2023 AT 12 SITES SPANNING ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, AND THE MEXICAN STATE OF SONORA. OVER 17 COUNTRIES WERE REPRESENTED IN BYTES PARTICIPANTS, WITH 83 BEING NATIVE SPANISH SPEAKERS AND OVER 73 RESIDING IN LOCKED INSTITUTIONAL SETTINGS PRISONS, MIGRANT SHELTERS, CHILD WELFARE FACILITIES, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INSTITUTIONS. BYTES 2023 INITIATIVES INCLUDED THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BYTE PRISON SPORT ACADEMY, BYTE INTERNATIONAL IMMERSIONS AND GLOBAL CONSULTING IN BILINGUAL TRAUMA INFORMED COMMUNITY COACHING. 2023 SAW THE SOLIDIFICATION OF BTYES NORTHERN CALIFORNIA OPERATIONS, INCLUDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF YEAR-ROUND TENNIS AND JOB READINESS PROGRAMMING AT SAN FRANCISCO JUVENILE HALL, THROUGH A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SF JUVENILE PROBATION DEPT AND THE SF DEPT OF CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND THEIR FAMILIES.
