SERVING THE NEEDS OF VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN TIMES OF CRISES.

IN 2023 WE CONTINUED OUR EFFORTS TO CONNECT WITH BOTH PARTNERS AND VETERAN CLIENTS IN THE BALANCE OF THE STATE, AGAIN SERVING VETERANS IN 32 COUNTIES. IN ADDITION, NEW SERVICE ORGANIZATION PARTNERSHIPS WERE FORMED WITH 8 NEW AGENCIES WITH WHOM WE HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY WORKED TO SERVE VETERAN CLIENTS. IN ADDITION, 3 EVENTS WERE HELD BY VETERAN SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS THAT NETTED APPROXIMATELY $31,000 IN NEW DONOR DOLLARS. THOSE EVENTS WERE HELD WITHOUT COST TO THE AGENCY. IN PRIOR YEARS WE HAVE RECEIVED FUNDING FROM THE BOB WOODRUFF FOUNDATION FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE NEEDS AND THOSE FUNDS WERE RECEIVED THROUGH THE VETERANS HEALTH COALITION. IN 2023, WE WERE ABLE TO ESTABLISH CREDENTIALS WITH THE WOODRUFF FOUNDATION WHICH ESTABLISHED THE AGENCY AS QUALIFIED FOR DIRECT FUNDING FROM THE FOUNDATION, AND WE RECEIVED OUR FIRST $5000 OF DIRECT FUNDING FROM THE WOODRUFF FOUNDATION TO ASSIST OUR CLIENTS. ALSO, AN EFFORT WAS MADE TO EXPAND OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS WITH TWO NEW POSITIONS WITH THE GOAL OF ATTRACTING MORE VETERANS AS MEMBERS OF OUR BOARD, WITH THE RESULT THAT ONE COLONEL IN THE WI NATIONAL GUARD WAS ADDED, AND A LIEUTENANT COLONEL FEMALE RETIREE OF THE AIR NATIONAL GUARD WAS ALSO ADDED, BRINGING THE TOTAL BOARD MEMBERSHIP TO 9 WITH 6 MEMBERS BEING VETERANS.
