THE SOUTHERN NEVADA URBAN MICRO ACADEMY IS A COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIP MICROSCHOOL WITH THE CITY OF NORTH LAS VEGAS, FREE FOR CITY RESIDENTS AND THE CHILDREN OF EMERGENCY WORKERS, SERVING LEARNERS IN GRADES 1-8 HOUSED IN CITY-OWNED FACILITIES, LAUNCHED DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC TO COUNTER LEARNING LOSS WHILE PUBLIC SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED AND STRUGGLING.
