CULINARY JOB TRAINING PROGRAM: 2-YEAR PAID APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM TEACHING THE MOST VULNERABLE MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY THE CULINARY TRAINING AND LIFE SKILLS THEY NEED TO OBTAIN AND KEEP A JOB IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY.
THE KLASSROOM: A VENUE SPACE FOR RENT TO OUTSIDE PARTIES FOR ANYTHING FROM FUNDRAISING DINNERS, PARTIES, OR SPECIAL EVENTS. ADDITIONALLY, A SPACE USED FOR CULINARY SUPERHERO DINNERS AND OTHER JUSTICE LEAGUE OF FOOD EVENT GATHERINGS.
THE KITCHEN: A COMMERCIAL KITCHEN SPACE DESIGNED FOR USE AS A COMMISSARY FOR MOBILE FOOD VENDORS, CATERERS, ASPIRING RESTAURANT OWNERS, AND GUEST CHEFS. IT ALSO FUNCTIONS AS A SERVICE KITCHEN INTO THE HALL DSM NEXT DOOR. OUR GOAL AT THE KITCHEN IS TO REDUCE THE COST OF ENTRY INTO THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY BY OFFERING VARIOUS MEMBERSHIP LEVELS THAT PROVIDE ACCESS TO A PROFESSIONAL AND COST EFFECTIVE KITCHEN SPACE. OUR COMMERCIAL KITCHEN IS FULLY EQUIPPED AND LICENSED BY THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTIONS AND APPEALS.
