PURPOSE: NA MEA IKE IA (NMII) IS FORMED TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE ALOHA IN THE WORLD; AND AID IN THE POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF KEIKI - CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES WITH STRUCTURED, CULTURAL, VALUES-BASED PROGRAMS FROM THE ESSENCE OF OUR KUPUNA - ELDERS.; (2. PROGRAM SERVICE: PROMOTE AND PRESERVE ALOHA AND NATIVE HAWAIIAN CULTURAL IDENTITY; (3. SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: PROVIDED 500 NATIVE HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE CHILDREN'S BOOKS TO SCHOOLS; PROVIDED 700-HOLIDAY DINNERS TO FOOD-INSECURE FAMILIES; FACILITATED 1-HOLIDAY COMMUNITY EVENT; FACILITATED 3 JROTC DRILL COMPETITIONS WITH AN ESTIMATED 1500 TOTAL CADETS IMPACTED; FACILITATED 1 YOUTH DRILL CAMP AND SERVED 50 YOUTH; PROVIDED 4000 PRINTED ACTIVITY WORKSHEETS FOR YOUTH TO LEARN ABOUT THE HAWAIIAN CULTURE AND ENCOURAGE LITERACY AND USE OF THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN LANGUAGE.
