OASIS LEGAL SERVICES PROUDLY PROVIDES QUALITY LEGAL IMMIGRATION SERVICES TO UNDER-REPRESENTED LOW-INCOME GROUPS WITH A FOCUS ON LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITIES. BY ACKNOWLEDGING, RESPECTING, AND HONORING THEIR STRUGGLES, WE EMPOWER IMMIGRANTS SO THAT DIGNITY GROWS AND INTEGRITY BLOOMS.

OASIS'S LGBTQIA+ ASYLUM PROGRAM IS THE CORE OF OUR WORK. IN 2021, DESPITE THE CONTINUED DIFFICULTIES OF REMOTE WORK, OASIS SCREENED OVER 170 LGBTQIA+ IMMIGRANTS FOR ASYLUM. WE REPRESENTED 134 NEW ASYLUM SEEKERS AND CONTINUED LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR THE MORE THAN 400 ASYLUM SEEKERS WHOSE CASES ARE CURRENTLY PENDING. 65 CLIENTS WERE GRANTED ASYLUM. THE REMAINING CASES ARE STILL PENDING. OUR CASE APPROVAL RATE IS 99%.


PERMANENT RESIDENCY IS THE NEXT IMPORTANT STEP TOWARD CITIZENSHIP FOR THOSE WHO WIN ASYLUM. IN 2021 OASIS ASSISTED 127 LGBTQ+ IMMIGRANTS SEEKING LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCY. A TOTAL OF 111 CLIENTS WERE GRANTED RESIDENCY. THE REMAINING CASES ARE STILL PENDING. OUR CASE APPROVAL RATE IS 99%.


OUR NATURALIZATION PROGRAM FOCUSES ON HELPING LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENTS BECOME CITIZENS SO THAT THEY CAN BECOME FULL PARTICIPANTS IN OUR COMMUNITIES. IN 2021 OASIS REPRESENTED 49 NEW CLIENTS IN THEIR CITIZENSHIP APPLICATIONS AND RECEIVED 10 APPROVALS. THE REMAINING CASES ARE STILL PENDING. OUR CASE APPROVAL RATE IS 99%.
