FRIENDS OF KICKAPOO VALLEY RESERVE PROVIDES FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT FOR LAND MANAGEMENT, EDUCATION, AND EVENTS AT KICKAPOO VALLEY RESERVE.

Part 3 - Line 4a
FRIENDS OF KVR SUPPORTS THE KICKAPOO VALLEY RESERVE, WHICH HAD MORE THAN 13,000 VISITORS IN 2021. YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAMMING INCLUDED 11 WEEKS OF SUMMER CAMP WITH OVER 200 ATTENDEES. 2,100 STUDENTS FROM SCHOOL GROUPS WERE SERVED IN 2021. THE KICKAPOO VALLEY FOREST SCHOOL WAS LAUNCHED WITH 32 STUDENTS AND 50 TEACHERS AND VOLUNTEERS. ADULT EDUCATION AND RECREATION PROGRAMMING SERVED 1,450 COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ATTENDEES. MORE THAN 1,500 ANNUAL TRAIL PASSES WERE SOLD IN 2021, AND 55 PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN THE DAM CHALLENGE RACE. DURING 2021 AND CONTINUING IN 2022 WE HAVE A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN UNDERWAY TO RENOVATE THE EDUCATIONAL DISPLAY IN THE KVR VISITOR CENTER AND TO ERECT OUTDOOR CLASSROOM BUILDINGS.
