VETERANS PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS INC. WAS FORMED IN DECEMBER 2016 WITH THE MISSION OF PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO VETERAN & ACTIVE-DUTY POPULATIONS ABOUT PROSTATE CANCER. THE MISSION STATEMENT OF VPCA IS TO PROMOTE PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS AMONG ACTIVE MILITARY & VETERANS; EDUCATE VETERANS ON PROPER CARE & TREATMENT ALTERNATIVES FOR PROSTATE CANCER; AND PROMOTE THE LATEST TECHNOLOGIES AVAILABLE FOR THE TREATMENT & CURE OF PROSTATE CANCER.

FEBRUARY "MAKE BLUE THE NEW PINK" EVENT ONBOARD THE USS MIDWAY. THE EVENT WAS TO UPDATE SPONSORS AND VETERANS IN ATTENDANCE ON THE NEW POLICIES TOWARDS PROSTATE CANCER SCREENING AND TO SHOW THE HIGHER INCIDENCE OF THE CANCER AMONG VETERANS.
WE EXHIBITED AT THE AMERICAN UROLOGICAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN NEW ORLEANS. THE MISSION WAS TO RAISE AWARENESS AROUND THE HIGHER INCIDENCE OF PROSTATE CANCER AMONG OUR POPULATION AND SOLICIT SUPPORT FROM INDUSTRY AND PHYSICIANS. THE EVENT WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 250 COMPANIES, AND OVER 25,000 PARTICIPANTS.
IN SEPTEMBER WE PARTICIPATED IN THE USMC MIRAMAR AIR SHOW WHICH HAD APPROXIMATELY 750,000 ATTENDEES. THE POPULATION WAS PRIMARILY VETERANS AND WE HOSTED A NUMBER OF GUESTS IN A CHALET ON THE FLIGHT LINE FOR THE EVENT. THE FUND RAISING WAS ALSO ACCOMPLISHED AT A BOOTH WITHIN THE AIRCRAFT ON DISPLAY.
