THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO GEICO ASSOCIATES AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING TIMES OF DISASTER AND WHEN SPECIFIC UNEXPECTED EMERGENCY ECONOMIC HARDSHIP EVENTS OCCUR.

THE GRANT PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND DISASTER RELIEF TO EMPLOYEES OF GEICO IN CASE OF EMERGENCY OR CATASTROPHIC SITUATION THAT HAS CAUSED TEMPORARY FINANCIAL HARDSHIP NOT ALLEVIATED BY INSURANCE OR OTHER RESOURCES. THIS EVENT MUST BE CAUSED BY A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED OCCURRENCE, WHICH CREATES A PRESSING AND NON-RECURRING FINANCIAL NEED FOR AN ASSOCIATE. TO QUALIFY FOR ASSISTANCE THE QUALIFYING EVENT MUST HAVE OCCURRED WITHIN 9 MONTHS OF THE SUBMISSION DATE OF THE APPLICATION AND MUST HAVE BEEN BEYOND THE ASSOCIATE'S CONTROL. QUALIFIED EVENTS FALL INTO THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: DISASTERS, SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURY, DEATH, MILITARY DEPLOYMENT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. THE GRANT ASSISTANCE IS LIMITED TO $25,000 PER ASSOCIATE IN A ROLLING 12-MONTH PERIOD.
