THE LAKE COUNTY COMMUNITY FUND (LCCF) IS A NONPROFIT CREATED TO BRING ADDITIONAL RESOURCES INTO LAKE COUNTY TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. THE VISION OF THE LCCF IS FOR LAKE COUNTY TO HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF SUSTAINABLE PHILANTHROPIC RESOURCES TO SUPPORT A THRIVING COMMUNITY. ITS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A MEANS TO EXPAND THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, PROMOTE AND FACILITATE GIVING OPPORTUNITIES AND INSPIRE INVESTMENT IN LAKE COUNTY. THE LCCF WILL ENCOURAGE DONATIONS BY INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, AND FOUNDATIONS, AND INVITE CHARITIES IN LEADVILLE AND TWIN LAKES TO APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDING TO FURTHER THEIR MISSIONS. THE LCCF WILL (I) CAPTURE PHILANTHROPIC DOLLARS OF PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO LOVE LEADVILLE; (II) SUPPORT EXISTING NON-PROFITS AND WORTHY CAUSES IN LAKE COUNTY; AND (III) MAKE GRANTS AND PROVIDE CAPACITY- BUILDING SERVICES TO EXISTING LAKE COUNTY NON-PROFITS.

FISCAL SPONSORSHIP AND CAPACITY-BUILDING EFFORTS. THIS LCCF PROGRAM AREA INCLUDES ALL THE COMPONENTS OF ACQUIRING AND HOUSING FISCAL SPONSORED FUNDS, AS WELL AS SERVING AS A LOCAL CONVENER WHEN APPROPRIATE AND OFFERING TRAININGS AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO LOCAL NONPROFIT AND CHARITABLE GROUPS. THIS ALSO INCLUDES PUTTING ON EVENTS IN SUPPORT OF FISCAL SPONSORED FUNDS AND/OR EVENTS RELATED TO LOCAL CAPACITY-BUILDING. IN THE PRIOR YEAR, THE LCCF HOUSED SEVEN FISCAL SPONSORED FUNDS (WE LOVE LEADVILLE TRIBUTE, PUMPKIN PATCH, TREE OF SHARING, LIONS CLUB SAFEWAY CARDS, LIDERES LATINOS LEADVILLE, AND LAKE COUNTY OPEN SPACE INITIATIVE.
COMMUNITY GRANTMAKING. ON AN ANNUAL BASIS, THE LCCF OFFERS A COMPETITIVE COMMUNITY GRANTS ROUND, WHICH INCLUDES ADVERTISING THE GRANT-MAKING OPPORTUNITY, HOLDING INFORMATION SESSIONS, RECEIVING GRANT PROPOSALS, CONDUCTING TECHNICAL REVIEW OF PROPOSALS, AND FACILITATING GRANT AWARD DETERMINATIONS BY THE LCCF BOARD OF DIRECTORS. IN THE PRIOR YEAR, THE LCCF GRANTED OUT 81,294 TO 12 LOCAL CHARITABLE GROUPS AS PART OF ITS COMMUNITY GRANTS ROUND.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE LCCF INTO A COMMUNITY ASSET, INCLUDING NETWORKING AND PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH POTENTIAL CONTRIBUTORS AND MAJOR INVESTORS IN THE LEADVILLE/LAKE COUNTY COMMUNITY.
