TO EDUCATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES SUCH AS U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION, HOMELAND SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS, AND VARIOUS OTHER FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF COUNTERFEIT PARTS, AND PROVIDE ACTIONABLE INFORMATION TO SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS. TO INCREASE CONSUMER AWARENESS OF SAFETY AND OTHER CONCERNS INVOLVING THE USE OF COUNTERFEIT MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS. TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR EDUCATION AND THE DISSEMINATION OF USEFUL INFORMATION AMONG EMPLOYEES OF MOTOR VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS CONCERNING THE SALE OF COUNTERFEIT MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS.

FACILITATED AND ENCOURAGED DISCUSSION AMONG ALL PARTIES INTERESTED IN PREVENTING THE SALE OR TRANSFER OF COUNTERFEIT MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS. THIS ACTIVITY HAS DEVELOPED INTO A REGULAR SET OF MEETINGS AND TRAINING EVENTS WHERE SUCH DISCUSSIONS INVOLVE AGENTS AND OFFICERS OF NUMEROUS FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, RESELLER WEBSITES INTERESTED IN PREVENTING THE SALE OF COUNTERFEIT GOODS ON THEIR SITES, AND OTHERS INVOLVED IN ANTI-COUNTERFEITING INITIATIVES. IT ALLOWS VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS TO HELP EDUCATE LAW ENFORCERS ON THE IDENTIFICATION OF COUNTERFEIT PARTS AND ASSIST THE WEBSITE OPERATORS TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVE PRACTICES TO TAKE ACTION THE WEBSITE OPERATORS DEEM APPROPRIATE WHEN RESELLERS OF COUNTERFEIT PARTS ARE IDENTIFIED.
