Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
IN FY22, THE ZEH PTO WAS ABLE TO RAISE FUNDS THROUGH ITS LARGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR - KIDZFEST. THIS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER IS A FUN DAY AT THE SCHOOL WITH EDUCATIONAL GAMES, RAFFLES, AND TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITIES FOR THE CHILDREN OF ALL GRADES. A SILENT AUCTION IS ATTENDED BY THE PARENTS TO HELP RAISE FUNDS TO SUPPORT OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN FY22 THE 2ND MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER WAS A READ-A-THON. STUDENTS WERE ENCOURAGED TO READ A MINIMUM OF 10 MINUTES PER DAY FOR 3 WEEKS AND THEY COLLECTED PLEDGES FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO REACH THEIR GOAL. IT WAS A VERY FUN AND SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER, FAMILIES REPORTED THAT THEIR CHILDREN WERE READING MORE THAN EVER. IN FY22 ONE OF OUR LARGEST PROGRAM EXPENSES WAS PROVIDING ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS THAT BENEFITTED THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS MADE THIS CHALLENGING, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO PROVIDE SEVERAL WONDERFUL PROGRAMS FROM THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE, THE DISCOVERY MUSEUM, THE ECOTARIUM, CHILDREN'S AUTHOR VISITS, AND WE WERE ABLE TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE CATERPILLAR KITS FOR THE BUTTERFLY LIFE CYCLE. ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM EXPENSE WAS ACADEMIC GRANTS THAT WERE ISSUED TO THE CLASSROOM TEACHERS AND SPECIALISTS. THESE GRANTS WERE USED TO PURCHASE CLASSROOM SUPPLIES, PHYSICAL EDUCATION SUPPLIES, AND BOOKS FOR THE CLASSROOM LIBRARIES. THESE GRANTS ARE ACADEMIC IN NATURE AND FOSTER BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR ALL STUDENTS IN ALL GRADE LEVELS.
