CATALYST WORKED TO: (I) FOSTER, SUPPORT, PROMOTE, AND CONDUCT ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO PROVIDE AND EXPAND ACCESS TO SAFE, HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION WORLDWIDE, PARTICULARLY FOR THOSE POPULATIONS OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH AFFECTED BY WAR, CONFLICT, PREJUDICE, POVERTY, OR ISOLATION, AND (II) TO INCREASE GLOBAL UNDERSTANDING OF THE CRITICAL LACK OF EDUCATION FACING SUCH POPULATIONS AROUND THE GLOBE. CATALYST FOCUSED ON INITIATIVES ADDRESSING THE EDUCATIONAL CHALLENGES IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA, INCLUDING THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF SYRIAN AND OTHER REFUGEES. IN ADDITION, IT ALSO CONSIDERED AND FUNDED INITIATIVES WHICH ADDRESSED EDUCATIONAL ISSUES IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD.
