THE AHEC OF A SUMMER HEALTH CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM PROVIDES JOB SHADOWING EXPERIENCE, CLASSROOM EDUCATION, CPR CERTIFICATION AND CAREER OPTIONS IN HEALTH CARE FOR APPROXIMATELY 225 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT 22 COMMUNITY HOSPITALS, FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTERS, AND RURAL HEALTH CLINICS THROUGHOUT NORTH LOUISIANA.
MEDICAL APPLICATIONS OF SCIENCE IN HEALTH (M.A.S.H.) PROVIDES 15 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS A 3-HOUR COLLEGE CREDIT ENRICHMENT COURSE IN PREPARATION FOR PURSUING MAJORS IN HEALTH CAREERS.
THE RURAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM PROVIDES INSIGHT AND ASSISTANCE WITH THE MEDICAL SCHOOL APPLICATION PROCESS, CLINICAL SKILLS BUILDING AND MENTORING TO APPROXIMATELY 10 PRE-MED COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM RURAL COMMUNITIES.
