THE WE THE PEOPLE: THE CITIZEN AND THE CONSTITUTION PROGRAM PROMOTES CIVIC COMPETENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY AMONG THE NATION'S UPPER ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY STUDENTS. THE WE THE PEOPLE CURRICULUM INCLUDES INTERACTIVE STRATEGIES, RELEVANT CONTENT AND ENDS WITH A SIMULATED CONGRESSIONAL HEARING MAKE TEACHING AND LEARNING EXCITING FOR BOTH STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. THE WE THE PEOPLE CURRICULUM IS AN INNOVATIVE COURSE OF INSTRUCTION ON THE HISTORY AND PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITED STATES CONSITUTIONAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC.
PROJECT CITIZEN IS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CURRICULAR PROGRAM FOR MIDDLE, SECONDARY, AND POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS, YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS, AND ADULT GROUPS THAT PROMOTES COMPETENT AND RESPONSIBLE PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT. THE PROGRAM HELPS PARTICIPANTS LEARN HOW TO MONITOR AND INFLUENCE PUBLIC POLICY. IN THE PROCESS, THEY DEVELOP DUPPORT FOR DEMOCRATIC VALUES AND PRINCIPLES, TOLERANCE, AND FEEELINGS OF POLITICAL EFFICACY.
THE HISTORY DAY PROGRAM IS AN EXCITING WAY TO STUDY HISTORY AND LEARN ABOUT ISSUES, IDEAS, PEOPLE, AND EVENTS THAT ARE OF INTEREST TO STUDENTS. HISTORY DAY LETS STUDENTS EXPRESS WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED THROUGH CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL PERFORMANCES, MEDIA DOCUMENTARIES, PAPERS, OR THREE-DIMENSIONAL EXHIBITS.HISTORY DAY PROVIDES CLASSROOM TEACHERS WITH AN EFFECTIVE VEHICLE FOR TEACHING NOT ONLY THE CONTENT OF HISTORY (AND OTHER SUBJECTS, SUCH AS ART, THEATER, AND MEDIA), BUT THE BASIC COMPONENTS OF CRITICAL THINKING.
