INNOVATION HEALTH CENTER ISSUES CASE-SPECIFIC MEDICAL NECESSITY EVALUATIONS IN REGARD TO THE SYNAGIS DRUG; SUBMITS RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT WHETHER PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS (PA) SHOULD BE APPROVED OR DENIED, AND IF APPROVED, RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE AMOUNT OF THE DRUG; PERFORMS EXPEDITED REVIEWS; AND ENSURES THAT THE WEB-BASED PA PROCESS REFLECTS CURRENT GUIDELINES PER THE MOST CURRENT VERSION OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS RED BOOK. AS NO SERVICE COULD BE FOUND IN COMMERCIAL BUSINESS, IHC PROGRAM SERVICES NOW INCLUDE THE PROCUREMENT OF SPECIAL METABOLIC FORMULA FOR ALL MEDICAID PATIENTS IN NC. IHC TAKES THE DOCTOR'S ORDERS AND ENTERS ORDERS, SPECIFIC TO EACH PATIENT, WITH METABOLIC FORMULA MANUFACTURERS. THE ORDERS ARE DROP SHIPPED TO THE PATIENT'S HOME COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR PICK UP. IN 2019, IHC BEGAN COLLABORATION ON A PILOT PROGRAM RELATED TO ENHANCED CARE COORDINATION AND COMPLEX CARE MANAGEMENT OF CHILDREN WITH MEDICAL COMPLEXITY CARED FOR IN NORTH CAROLINA. IN 2021, IHC EXPERIENCED DELAYS IN ADMINISTERING ITS PROGRAMS DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
