CONDUCTS MANY PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE CELEBRATING VETERANS DAY AND MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAYS BY CONDUCTING SERVICES IN THE CEMETERIES, PLACING FLAGS ON VETERANS GRAVES AND MARCHING IN NEW BEDFORD PARADES ON THESE HOLIDAYS. THE MEMBERS VISIT NURSING HOMES AND BRING VETERANS "CARE PACKAGES; PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS IN NEED OR IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS; ASSIST YOUTH WITH PARTICIPATION IN THE AMERICAN LEGION BOYS STATE PROGRAM; AND SPONSORS BOYS AND GIRLS YOUTH BASEBALL TEAMS.
