SKY DOG SANCTUARY IS A 9,000 ACRE MUSTANG SANCTUARY IN OREGON FOR UNWANTED BLM MUSTANGS OR DONKEYS RESCUED FROM AUCTIONS OR KILL PENS, BLM SHORT TERM HOLDING PENS OR OTHER SITUATIONS THAT ARE DANGEROUS FOR THE WELFARE OF A WILD HORSE OR BURRO.WE ALSO AIM TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THE PLIGHT OF WILD HORSES AND BURROS IN AMERICA AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT WHAT THEY CAN DO TO HELP.THE RANCH ITSELF WILL ALSO INFORM PEOPLE ABOUT CARRYING CAPACITY AND RANGELAND DEGRADATION AND HIGHLIGHT WAYS IN WHICH LAND CAN BE RESTORED TO ALLOW MAXIMUM CARRYING CAPACITY AND PROMOTE NATIVE SPECIES AND SHOW JUST HOW DESTRUCTIVE INVASIVE SPECIES CAN BE IN THE WILD.

IN 2020, SKY DOG SANCTUARY CONTINUED TO SUCCESSFULLY CARE FOR OVER 150 WILD EQUINES RESCUED FROM TERRIBLE SITUATIONS, OWNER AND TRAINER RELINQUISHMENTS, AND FROM KILL PENS. AS WELL AS FAMILIES REUNITED AT OUR 9,000-ACRE SANCTUARY, WHICH WE EXPANDED.IN THIS YEAR, SKY DOG SANCTUARY ASSISTED IN SAVING OVER 100 MUSTANGS BY WORKING WITH OTHER RESCUES AND SANCTUARIES TO TRAIN AND ADOPT OUT TWO- AND THREE YEAR-OLD UNHANDLED WILD HORSES WHO HAD LANDED IN THE SLAUGHTER PIPELINE AS A RESULT OF THE BLM ADOPTION INCENTIVE PLAN PAYING THE PUBLIC $1,000 PER HORSE ADOPTED.WE AGAIN INCREASED OUR SOCIAL MEDIA REACH TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR WILD MUSTANGS AND BURROS AND WERE AWARDED A BLUE TICK VERIFICATION ON INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK AS A TOP NONPROFIT AND INFLUENCER.
